Houston, TX Construction Site Cleanup
Trackout control, sediment removal, and magnetic nail sweeping for Houston job sites — where gumbo clay meets gulf rain, and the SWPPP binder had better show active control.
At a glance
Gumbo clay doesn’t stay on site
Houston’s black gumbo clay is famous for two things: swallowing boots and riding truck tires straight out the gate. Moore Clean keeps job sites and their haul routes clean across the metro — multifamily and mixed-use going up in EaDo and The Heights, warehouse and distribution builds along Beltway 8 and the Port corridor, office and medical projects in the Energy Corridor and Texas Medical Center orbit, and subdivision work spreading through Katy, Cypress, and Fulshear.
Every visit is documented for the SWPPP binder. Houston-area sites answer to the TCEQ construction general permit and the City of Houston’s stormwater program — and with the region’s rain intensity, an inspector here doesn’t need to look hard to find uncontrolled sediment. A dated sweep log at the gate is the difference between a walkthrough and a write-up.
The pace is not slowing: the Houston area consistently ranks among the national leaders in new construction activity tracked by the U.S. Census Bureau’s Building Permits Survey — and every permit issued is a future site with track-out to control.

What’s included
What construction site cleanup includes
- Trackout & haul-route sweeping
- Sediment removal at gates & entrances
- Magnetic nail & metal debris sweeping
- Paving & milling cleanup
- SWPPP-support documentation per visit
- Pre-inspection & pre-pour sweeps
- Final cleanup before turnover
- Recurring service for phased builds
Wet clay and broken pavement call for equipment built for it — our TYMCO DST-4 dustless sweeper handles the fine, sticky material Houston sites shed, and magnet bars pull nails and tie wire off haul routes before a sub’s tire finds them. At close-out, a final pressure wash takes the last of the site off the flatwork.

Why it matters
What does SWPPP compliance look like in Houston?
Same federal and state framework as everywhere in Texas — the EPA’s NPDES construction stormwater program implemented through the TCEQ construction general permit (TXR150000) — but with higher stakes. Houston’s drainage runs on inches of grade; sediment a site sheds today is in a bayou-bound inlet by the next thunderstorm, and trackout on a public street is the violation every inspector sees first.
Scheduled sweeping turns that exposure into evidence: dated records showing haul routes swept, gates controlled, and sediment hauled off — documentation that satisfies both the City of Houston stormwater program and your own risk manager.

Questions
Houston construction cleanup FAQ
Can you keep up with a site during the rainy season?
Yes — that’s most of the job here. After heavy rain we prioritize gates and haul routes where clay gets carried out, and we can bump cadence during wet months so trackout never accumulates. Sites that sweep on a schedule spend less per visit than sites that call us after the street’s already coated.
Is magnetic nail sweeping included?
On every construction sweep. Magnet bars run haul routes, gates, and laydown areas, pulling nails, screws, and tie wire that sweeping alone misses — cheap insurance for your subs’ tires and the paving crew’s schedule.
What documentation do you provide for our SWPPP?
Dated service records for every visit — what was swept, where, and what was hauled — ready for the SWPPP binder as evidence of active trackout and sediment control under the TXR150000 general permit and City of Houston requirements.
Do you work around pours and delivery schedules?
Always. Early-morning sweeps before the gate opens, evening runs after the last truck, or midday windows between phases — and for phased builds we set a recurring cadence that flexes with the site plan.
