At a glance
Clean curb lines, clean storm drains
Moore Clean runs street sweeping built around what Corpus Christi pavement actually collects. Blowing sand drifts into gutters along South Padre Island Drive and the Saratoga Blvd retail corridors. Tourism traffic leaves litter and grit on Shoreline Blvd and through the Downtown SEA District. Truck routes serving the Inner Harbor and refinery row track material back onto public streets. Crews run scheduled routes and on-call sweeps for community streets in the Southside subdivisions, Calallen, Flour Bluff, and Padre Island, with most work happening overnight or early morning.
Sweeping the street is also sweeping the watershed. Every pound of sand, leaf litter, and trash lifted off the curb line is a pound that stays out of the storm inlet, and here that inlet drains to Corpus Christi Bay or Oso Bay on a short run. Regular power sweeping appears on stormwater best-management lists from the EPA down to the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program. Clean streets read as a well-run property; clean inlets read as a well-managed one.
The load does not stay level. One windy afternoon puts sand back in gutters swept overnight, hurricane season drops fronds and blown debris, and expansion around the Port of Corpus Christi keeps construction traffic feeding grit to the curb line.

Our fleet runs regenerative-air sweeper trucks like the Schwarze A7 Tornado, A4 Storm, and TYMCO 435, sweepers that vacuum and filter rather than pushing debris along, so the fine sand that blows in off the flats actually leaves the street instead of resettling behind the truck. The fleet also includes Schwarze M6 Avalanche mechanical broom sweepers for heavy post-storm loads. Our guide on how street sweepers work explains the difference the technology makes. Routes pair naturally with parking lot sweeping for centers that want frontage and lot handled in one visit.

Why it matters
How does street sweeping protect Corpus Christi Bay and the South Texas region?
Street sweeping is one of the few stormwater controls that removes material before rain moves it, which is why it appears on the EPA’s national menu of stormwater BMPs and in TxDOT’s stormwater program for roadway maintenance. On the Coastal Bend the trip from a curb inlet to Corpus Christi Bay or Oso Bay is measured in blocks, not river miles.
For property managers and boards, the paper matters as much as the pavement: routes are GPS-logged and every sweep is documented, so when a stormwater inspector or a board asks what is being done, the answer is a report. The City of Corpus Christi handles public streets and inlets through its own storm water division under the municipal storm sewer program; private streets and lots sit outside it.

Where we sweep
Street sweeper routes across Corpus Christi and the South Texas region

Routes start in Corpus Christi, then cross the Harbor Bridge to Portland, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Rockport, and Port Aransas, west to Robstown, and south on US-77 toward Kingsville. If it has a curb line, it can go on a route. Overnight windows keep sweepers clear of daytime traffic on SPID and the Crosstown Expressway, and storm response clears sand and debris before it washes into inlets.

Questions
Corpus Christi street sweeping FAQ
Do you sweep HOA and residential community streets?
Yes. HOA street sweeping is a large share of our Coastal Bend work, especially in the Southside subdivisions off Saratoga Blvd, in Calallen, and on the island side in Flour Bluff and Padre Island. We run monthly or quarterly routes, sweep the full curb line including cul-de-sacs, and send service reports the board can file.
How do you handle blowing sand on island and bayfront streets?
Sand is the local variable. Steady Gulf wind rebuilds a drift line along the gutter within days of a sweep, so island and bayfront routes run on a tighter interval than inland ones. Regenerative-air machines help here, because fine sand is the fraction a broom-only pass tends to leave behind.
When do sweeping routes run?
Mostly overnight and early morning. Sweeping before dawn means empty curb lines on commercial frontage, and it keeps our trucks out of daytime traffic on SPID and the Crosstown Expressway. It also works around visitor traffic on Shoreline Blvd and through the SEA District. Daytime sweeps are available where site conditions call for them.
Can you respond after storms and during hurricane season?
Yes. Coastal storms push sand, fronds, branches, and roofing debris onto commercial streets in a few hours, and we run response sweeps to clear it before it reaches inlets or turns into a road hazard. Availability during a widespread event depends on access and crew load, so properties that want priority should get on a standing route before the season.
Do you sweep port district and industrial truck routes?
Yes. Access roads around the Inner Harbor, refinery row, and the industrial parks along Nueces Bay carry loaded trucks all day, and they collect tracked mud, aggregate, and metal a passenger corridor rarely sees. Those routes get heavier passes, and where salt air has baked grime into flatwork we can add pressure washing or a construction site cleanup crew on the same visit.
