San Antonio, TX Airport Sweeping

On airport pavement, loose hardware and debris are foreign object debris, among the most preventable sources of aircraft damage. Moore Clean sweeps FBO ramps, aprons, hangar rows, and landside pavement across the San Antonio region with regenerative-air equipment and the documentation operators keep on file.

Clean surface, protected aircraft

Moore Clean is available for airport sweeping across the San Antonio region, serving FBO ramps, hangar rows, corporate aprons, and the garages and access roads on the landside. We are available for airport cleanup services spanning San Antonio International’s landside zones, Stinson Municipal south of downtown, and the fields at New Braunfels Regional, Boerne Stage Field, and Castroville Municipal, with crews dispatched from our yard on US 181 southeast of downtown.

Foreign object debris does its damage quietly: a bolt on a ramp, spalled concrete at a gate, wind-blown trash along a fence line. A regenerative-air sweeper vacuums that material off the pavement instead of relocating it across the field, and the case for sweeping on a schedule only gets stronger where grit arrives daily. The same machines handle the landside, where garages, curbfronts, and access roads see the ordinary grind of commercial traffic.

South Texas works against clean pavement. Caliche dust, brush-country grit, and construction traffic ride onto ramps and aprons year round, and every movement grinds that material into the surface. Scheduled sweeps put it in a hopper before it reaches an intake, a tire path, or a tenant’s hangar floor.

What’s included

Airside and landside, on your ops windows

Crews work to your movement schedule, your escort requirements, and your FOD program:

  • Apron, ramp & gate-area sweeping between operations
  • Taxiway & shoulder sweeping in coordination with ops
  • Landside roads, curbs & parking structures
  • Post-construction FOD sweeps before pavement returns to service
  • Service logs formatted for your Part 139 inspection file

Airport routes run the same regenerative-air fleet as our street and parking work, Schwarze A7 Tornado and TYMCO 435 class machines, with compact units for gate areas and tight ramp corners. Facilities that pair airside sweeping with landside upkeep typically add parking lot sweeping on the same visit.

Why it matters

FOD control is a regulatory requirement

Part 139 airports are required to keep paved operating areas free of foreign object debris. 14 CFR §139.305 puts it in the pavement maintenance standard itself, and FAA AC 150/5210-24A lays out what a FOD management program looks like: detection, removal, and records. Sweeping is the removal leg of that triangle.

General aviation fields and private ramps are not held to Part 139 standards, but the operational risk is the same: foreign object debris damages engines, tires, and propellers regardless of a facility’s classification. We apply the same sweeping and documentation standard at every field we serve.

From the landside zones at San Antonio International through Stinson Municipal south of downtown to the hangar rows at New Braunfels Regional, Boerne Stage Field, and Castroville Municipal, plus the airparks and industrial campuses between them, routes cover commercial, corporate, and general aviation pavement on scheduled visits. Post-construction FOD sweeps clear new pavement before it returns to service, and landside routes keep garages and curbfronts presentable.

Deep-clean option

Special Projects: Cyclone deep-clean surface system

Special project equipment option: Some airport pavement needs more than sweeping, such as years of gum, grease, and embedded grime on terminal curbfronts, parking garage decks, and FBO ramp corners. For those jobs we bring in a Cyclone Technology high-pressure surface system, rented for the projects that call for it.

The Cyclone’s enclosed cleaning head recovers wash water and slurry the moment it lifts off the pavement, cleaning up to 20,000 square feet an hour with no runoff to the curb. That containment is what the EPA’s stormwater best management practices call for on commercial wash-downs, and it leaves surfaces clean, dry, and back in service the same visit.

Questions

San Antonio airport sweeping FAQ

Can your crews work airside?

Yes. Crews carry insurance to airport requirements, complete badging or work under escort per your access rules, and coordinate every movement with operations. We plan sweeps around your ops windows, including overnight.

Which San Antonio-area airports do you serve?

We are available for the metro’s commercial, corporate, and general aviation fields, from San Antonio International’s landside zones to the hangar rows at Stinson Municipal, New Braunfels Regional, Boerne Stage Field, and Castroville Municipal. If your field or airpark is not named here, ask. The coverage area is wider than the examples, and route scheduling is flexible.

Do you provide documentation for Part 139 inspections?

Every sweep produces a dated log with GPS tracking that drops into your pavement-maintenance records. If your FOD program needs a specific format, we match it.

When do routes run?

We are available around your operations. Apron and ramp work can run overnight or between banks of activity, when pavement is clear and escorts are easiest to schedule. Landside roads, garages, and curbfronts can run daytime where access allows, and post-construction sweeps are scheduled against your contractor’s turnover date.
