Jose Moore Named to Abilene Christian University Board of Trustees
Abilene Christian University has appointed Moore Clean CEO Jose Moore to its Board of Trustees, effective January 28, 2023. He joined the board alongside Luke James, president of VitalCaring Group, a home health organization based in Dallas.
Jose Moore received a degree in sociology from ACU in 1998 and lives in Georgetown, Texas. He is the chief executive of Moore Clean LLC, the Texas facilities maintenance and site cleanup company he continues to lead, and he also serves as CEO and coach for Austin United, a nonprofit youth basketball program.
A long-standing connection to the university
The appointment builds on a relationship with ACU that goes back years. In 2017, Jose Moore and his wife Laura established the Abel Alvarez Scholarship Endowment at the university. Abel Alvarez is ACU’s advancement and university relations officer for diverse initiatives.
What the Board of Trustees does
The Board of Trustees is the governing body for Abilene Christian University. Its responsibilities include setting institutional policy, directing long-term strategy, and making sure the university fulfills “its mission to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.” Members are eligible to serve up to five three-year terms.

At the time of the appointment, Moore Clean was described as a facilities maintenance and erosion control business serving the Austin and San Antonio areas. The company has grown considerably since. Following its acquisition of Alamo Lot Maintenance, Moore Clean now covers the four major regions of Texas, adding Dallas and Houston, and offers commercial street sweeping, parking lot sweeping, construction site cleanup, pressure washing and porter service.
